Fall Brew Weekend

Join us for a weekend celebrating fresh micro-brewed beers and delicious cuisine. Friday night's reception at Chateau Boutin features a variety of delicious brews to sample, as well as a buffet full of gourmet appetizers and desserts. You'll taste hoppy beers, ambers, malty delights, and a special suprise brew! During Saturday's optional brewery tour, journey to nearby Ashland for a visit to the South Shore Brewery. Enjoy Saturday evening's Brew Dinner at the Rittenhouse Inn, where you'll sample select brews that compliment the six specially-prepared courses. A weekend celebrating fine red wines and gourmet cuisine! The next in our series of popular Red Wine Weekends is scheduled for November 7-8, 2008. The weekend begins with a reception at Chateau Boutin featuring fine wines and a delightful appetizer buffet. Saturday activities include a Wine Tasting/Seminar featuring the knowledge of the guest wine expert. The highlight of the weekend is Saturday evening's Wine Dinner featuring select wines paired to compliment Chef Miller's fantastic six course gourmet meal. March 1st, 2008 Run on Water The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Bureau is pleased to announce the 16th annual "Run on Water". This family fun event is open to people of all ages and skill levels. Participants can choose to run, walk, ski, or snowshoe the 5-mile course across frozen Lake Superior from Bayfield to Madeline Island and back.

Big Top Chautauqua Tent Raising

Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua's tent is one of the only all-canvas tents still raised in the nation. Most circus tents and other Chautauquas have reverted to vinyl.
Blessing of the Fleet

Blessing of the Fleet June 15, 2008 at Noon Lake Superior is Bayfield's lifeblood. The Lake has drawn countless people to this area, from the Ojibwe, to the fur traders and missionaries, to commercial fishermen, and finally to tourists and pleasure boaters. In the late 1950's Bayfield inaugurated the Blessing of the Fleet to honor its fishing families who formed the backbone of the area's economy.

Grandma's Marathon - Duluth, MN

Grandma's Marathon is a point-to-point course run along the beautiful north shore of Lake Superior. The 26.2-mile stretch begins on scenic Old Highway 61, just outside Two Harbors, Minnesota and finishes in Duluth's Canal Park. Enthusiastic volunteers, spectators and live entertainers line the streets to cheer runners on as they stride to the finish line.
